Accounts Payable Clerk (Full-time) - Baton Rouge, LA
Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
ABOUT DSLD HOMES
DSLD Homes is a nationally recognized homebuilder with markets ranging from Texas to Florida. DSLD Homes is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to handle invoices and payments related to construction of houses and general overhead.
OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Controller, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for analyzing and processing payments in a timely manner, ensuring proper approval authority, handling job cost and general ledger coding, handling vendor calls regarding inquiries and/or discrepancies and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand and apply job cost and general ledger coding processes and procedures
- Review invoices for appropriate coding, documentation and approval prior to payment
- Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
- Enter invoices for daily disbursement runs (ACH, Checks, etc) into the accounting system
- Enter invoices for multiple companies and business lines
- Review and process employee reimbursements
- Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies
- Address and respond to vendor inquiries
- Maintain files and documentation accurately
- Review vendor statements ensuring that all payments and open payables are entered/completed in a timely manner
JOB REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
- High school diploma required
- College degree in accounting related field or accounting experience preferred
- HIGH level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of standard accounting procedures
- Strong work ethic and reliable
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with internal/external customers via telephone, email and in person
