Job Title: HR/Payroll Manager

Schedule: 8:30a – 5:00p (M-F); Hybrid*
Reports to: Director of Operations
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic HR/Payroll Manager to oversee our human resources and payroll operations while driving workforce development initiatives. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who is passionate about talent management, compliance, compensation, and professional development in a fast-paced IT consulting environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Human Resources & Workforce Development – 50%
• Contributes to the development of department goals, objectives, and systems and recommends new policies, approaches, and procedures as needed
• Develop and update HR policies and procedures to align with industry best practices and labor laws
• Ensure compliance with EEO, FMLA, ADA, and other employment regulations
• Revise, prepare and process documents necessary to accomplish the hiring process
• Perform background checks and maintain personnel files, I9's & other related forms
• Perform employee orientation & new hire follow up
• Maintain employee census report and related HR/PR reports
• Prepare service award letters and certificates for employee recognition
• Assist clients/managers with employee concerns and make recommendations
• Serve as a trusted HR advisor, handling employee concerns, grievances, and conflict resolution
• Oversee performance management, including annual reviews, disciplinary actions, and employee engagement strategies
• Develop and implement workforce strategies to attract, retain, and develop IT talent, ensuring alignment with company goals
• Design and manage employee training programs, including career development, leadership training, and upskilling of talent
• Partner with department heads to create succession planning and talent development initiatives
• Promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives to foster an inclusive and dynamic workplace
Payroll Management – 40%
• Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments
• Maintain and enforce payroll policies, compensation structures, and benefit programs
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FLSA, tax regulations, and reporting requirements
• Manage payroll audits, reconciliations, and year-end reporting
• Correct & process employee time sheets
• Process payroll deductions and benefit billings
• Complete employment verifications as necessary
Benefits Administration – 10%
• Process benefit enrollments, changes and terminations for all benefit plans
• Organize annual open enrollment
• Manage 401k contributions and employer match accounts
• Oversee Sick and Vacation leave accrual programs and maintain employee Vacation/Sick Leave database
• Assist Benefits Broker with benefit marketing information/reporting
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• 5 years of HR and payroll experience, preferably in an IT consulting or professional services firm
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, etc.)
• Experience with workforce planning, training programs, and leadership development
• Deep understanding of employment laws, payroll compliance, and benefits administration
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on employee engagement and culture development
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Proactive and resourceful problem solver
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Positive and professional attitude
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
* The current work schedule is temporary and is subject to transition to a full-time onsite model in the future.
Pay rate: $75-$80K
