JOB SUMMARY
The Inventory Control Manager owns the production posting & inventory control/compliance processes for the Dubois Chemicals business as the subject matter expert for these processes across the DuBois supply chain. The Inventory Control Manager also has responsibility to analyze data daily for the Sr. Director of Logistics and the Manufacturing Plant Managers by creating, maintaining, and auditing reports to provide critical KPI’s for this segment of the integrated supply chain.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Builds & maintains master scheduling process that ensures demand & supply remain aligned, models reflect plant’s current & projected capacity, schedules reflect manufacturing’s operations processes, signals appropriate response to stock needs and customer orders.
- Builds a project plan to start creating scheduling routes with requirements criteria in MRP to take a step forward in greater automation of the scheduling processes across plants.
- Manages communication with internal & external customers on work order progress / estimated completion and ensures timely closure of manufacturing work orders and production posting; also reconciles major discrepancies driving cost or inventory variances in partnership with finance and production posting focals at each site.
- Builds & maintains inventory control & compliance processes for Dubois Chemicals as a business. Acts as a subject matter expert on inventory posting processes for all business leaders across Dubois. This includes building a cycle count plan and process to be maintained for the whole business.
- Manages the operational execution of the physical inventory schedule for all plants and warehouses across the business – supports the organization of operational stakeholders and partners with finance to ensure a successful physical inventory with minimal waste in inventory write-off.
- Manages the cost and budget for inventory cycle counts and write-offs monthly and maintains and reports on status of monthly inventory write-off/cycle count expenses to maintain accountability to stay at or under budget.
- Acts as process and ERP subject matter expert for assigned responsibilities in inventory control, scheduling and informally for planning criteria across all DuBois manufacturing sites. Also supports any site integrations into the D365 ERP system as the scheduling and inventory control subject matter expert.
- Creates, maintains and audits multiple analytical reports and trending analysis for KPI’s on delivery, backlog, raw material shortages, scheduling compliance and lead time. Utilizes maintenance of these reports and development of new reports for continuous improvement and accountability of KPI’s for the manufacturing team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated success in influencing others through informal reporting structures
- Analytical thinker, action-oriented problem solver and savvy navigator of business operations
- Comfort learning ERPs, mining data from tables, converting into actionable information and building processes around data
- Demonstrated success solving supply chain issues with customer service mindset
- Preferred: some experience in D365 ERP systems or similar ERP systems management and a core understanding of how MRP functions
EDUCATION REQUREMENTS
- BS in mathematics, engineering, supply chain management, operations management, data science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification – desired but not required
- APICS CPIM certification – desired but not required
