Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, inspections and basic repairs on utility vehicles and equipment. Includes, but is not limited to passenger cars, pickup trucks, SUV's, medium and heavy trucks, trailers and off road equipment. Maintenance operations may take place in the garage or at field locations during various work schedules depending on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections on light & medium duty vehicles / equipment and assist higher classification of technicians with PM's on all vehicles and equipment.
- Perform required State emission inspections.
- Assist with Federal DOT inspections.
- Adhere to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) for DOT inspections.
- Provide assistance on dielectric test inspections.
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on light and medium vehicles, (gas & diesel) forklifts, trailers and powered equipment.
- Maintain the appropriate level of technical competence required to diagnose and repair vehicles / equipment.
- Perform hydraulic brake systems and component repairs.
- Assist with hydraulic component repairs.
- Assist with air brake system inspections and repairs.
- Assist higher classification of technicians with diagnostics and repairs on all vehicles / equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair basic electric system components, cranking, lighting, charging and assist with basic A / C systems and component repairs.
