What are the responsibilities and job description for the Die Setup position at DUNDEE MANUFACTURING COMPANY?
Die Setup
Responsible for all setup operations including the following but not limited to:
- Setup of all presses
- Coil changes
- Chute’s and blow offs of all presses
- Die(s), parallel(s), conveyor(s) and chute(s) storage
- Make sure all tools are labeled
- Support operator needs during running
- Secure a setup approval for each part and maintain a sample board
Responsible for taking part in making process improvements
Responsible for standardization of setup and help develop a plan to reduce setup
Responsible for developing setup instructions
Responsible for staging and planning of die and make suggestions related to production
Perform maintenance duties within capabilities. An example is greasing machine, feeder/airline/sensor adjustments
Responsible for making sure process are ready before operators are sent to job
Attend production meetings and provide input related to job
Understanding and capability of completing first piece quality part for every part setup
Must be capable of navigating through the PLEX ERP Software utilizing the tools below:
- Fill out maintenance work orders as required
- Fill out reports related to die maintenance request
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Must be able to communicate well
Ability to troubleshoot dies, coil presses and feeder problems as well as understand maintenance related issues
General computer knowledge and Microsoft computer package
Must have previous experience operating an overhead crane
Must have experience driving a Hilo
Able to read a tape measure and other quality instruments
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Management courses or equivalent experience in supervision a plus
Previous manufacturing experience, minimum 3 years in a stamping facility required
ISO 9001 or related training a plus
Training in problem solving/troubleshooting methods is a plus
Certification is Die Setting is a plus
