DynaTen is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to join our team!  We are seeking a Senior HR Generalist to join our team, supporting a growing workforce in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of HR functions and be able to manage recruitment, employee relations, policy development, and HR systems. This role will be instrumental in implementing HR initiatives, supporting construction project teams, and fostering a positive company culture. The successful applicant will be proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable managing HR activities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:

  • Oversee the full recruitment process, from job postings to onboarding for all levels of construction staff, including laborers, managers, and office staff.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop tailored recruitment strategies to attract top talent for various roles.
  • Support the onboarding process to ensure new hires are set up for success.

HR Policies and Procedures:

  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures specific to the construction industry, ensuring compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Advise management and employees on HR policies, employee relations issues, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure consistency in the application of policies across different project sites and office locations.

HR Systems and Reporting:

  • Manage and update employee records through HRIS, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor laws.
  • Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports to support decision-making and identify trends for continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership with key HR data for workforce planning, retention strategies, and resource allocation.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Serve as a key point of contact for employees to address concerns, foster a supportive environment, and mediate any conflicts that arise.
  • Promote a culture of safety, inclusion, and employee well-being, considering the unique needs of our workforce.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees in relation to HR issues, such as benefits, policy, and workplace behavior.

Onboarding and Offboarding:

  • Manage and oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring smooth integration into the company culture and project teams.
  • Coordinate offboarding for departing employees, including exit interviews, collecting company property, and ensuring a respectful and smooth transition.
  • Ensure that both onboarding and offboarding processes align with company policies and legal requirements.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between HR and various departments, ensuring alignment of company goals and HR strategies.
  • Work closely with leaders at all levels of the organization, from field managers to senior executives, fostering open communication and collaboration to address workforce needs.
  • Develop and facilitate training programs to enhance employee skills, safety knowledge, and career development.
  • Engage with employees at all levels to ensure alignment in company values, policies, and initiatives, creating a strong, unified work environment.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel is essential for this role, up to 5% of the time, to visit project sites, attend recruitment events, attend town halls, and support employees across various locations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) is required
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as an HR Generalist, with a focus on construction, manufacturing, or another similarly dynamic industry.
  • Workday experience is required
  • Solid knowledge of labor laws, safety standards, and HR best practices in a construction environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels, including field workers, managers, and executives.
  • Spanish fluency is highly preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS and advanced reporting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage sensitive issues with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to adapt to the demands of a fast-paced, project-based environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
