Position: Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Irvine, CA - onsite
Position Description
DZYNE Technologies has an immidiate opening for a talented Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist to join our corporate team. We are excited to offer an opportunity for this specialist to work within our Accounting Group. This role is responsible for all payroll and accounts payable functions, including processing semi-monthly payroll, weekly vendor payments, expense reports, reconciling credit cards, and managing monthly AP accruals. This position will also support the Accounting department in producing accurate and timely financial statements.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Performs various payroll functions to include, but not limited to, processing of payroll, danger and hazard pay for deployed employees, wage garnishments, bonuses, manual pay, rate increases, tax filings, and timecard audits for exempt and non-exempt employees in various states
  • Prepare payroll journal
  • Reconcile the GL regarding payroll/accounts payable transactions
  • Submit 401K, HSA to the vendor portal
  • Responsible for the full accounts payable cycle from receipt of invoices to payment, including coding invoices, matching purchase orders, obtaining approval and ensuring invoices agree with contracts
  • Ensure timely receipt of invoice approvals, accruals and vendor invoices
  • Review and process internal expense reports
  • Prioritize vendor payments according to vendor terms and process payments in a timely fashion in accordance with the Company’s weekly schedule
  • Liaise with HR and finance to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with other company systems
  • Reconcile the company credit card statements to employee expense report activity
  • Assist in the month-end close process and annual audits
  • Assist in the preparation of 1099’s to independent contractors at year-end
  • Respond to employee/Vendor inquiries regarding Payroll and Accounts payable issues or concerns
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Accounting-related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience in payroll and accounts payable with proficiency in Accounting Software to include Paycor, Paychex or ADP
  • Expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SQL interface
  • Should have a flexible work schedule and the willingness to work additional hours during surge or accounting close weeks
  • Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite to include Word, and Excel
Desired skills
  • Government Contracting industry experience
  • Proficiency in using payroll software, specifically Paycor
  • Experience with Dynamics Navision is a plus but not required
Travel: Yes, 10% of the time

Security Clearance:
It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to be a US person and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
Other Requirements:
As this role involves responsibilities related to payroll, accounts payable, and cash handling, candidates will be subject to a credit check in addition to the standard background screening process. A candidate’s credit history will be evaluated in relation to the financial responsibilities of the position, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 annually
Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus.
