Job Role: Financial Controller

Location: Hazlet, NJ 07730 & NYC/Onsite

Job Type: Fulltime/Permanent

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join our growing Finance & Accounting department. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of broker dealer accounting, operations, securities regulations, and financial reporting standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Product revenue reconciliations and associated accounting controls review.
• Responsible for monthly home office reporting under US GAAP & IFRS.
• 17a-5 and SOX Audit responsibilities related to invoicing, reconciliations and controls testing.
• Daily / Monthly p/l accounting vs desk p/l reporting by client.
• Prepare ad hoc requests from management team.
• Internal projects management liaison for Holding company and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• 10 years of broker-dealer experience in securities accounting and/or broker dealer operations within the brokerage industry
• Strong analytical and accounting skills
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for general ledger (i.e. SAGE & Inteliclear)
• Ability to handle information with high level of confidentiality
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
• Working knowledge of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements
• Proven business partnering skills with the ability to communicate financial information in a concise and accessible manner to non-finance personnel and management
• Knowledge of SEC and FINRA regulations
• Brokerage experience, trading environment experience preferred but not required
• Series 7, 27 or CPA is preferred, but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
