Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive HR Generalist with expertise in payroll processing to join our team. This role will be remote, with occasional travel to office locations or property sites as needed. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HR best practices, labor laws, and payroll systems, especially within the hospitality industry. This position will have dual reporting to the corporate office owner representative and the Executive Chef of the Inn.
Essential Responsibilities
- HR Operations: Oversee day-to-day HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance.
- Payroll Administration: Accurately process payroll for inn and restaurant staff, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Compliance: Maintain knowledge of industry-specific labor laws and ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations, including tip reporting and service charge distributions.
- Employee Engagement: Support employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive work culture.
- Policy Implementation: Assist in developing, updating, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Training & Development: Coordinate and deliver training programs to support employee development and compliance.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports as needed

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist, with a focus on payroll.
- Experience in the hospitality industry (inns/restaurants) strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Paycor, Quickbooks, Paycom or similar) and HRIS platforms.
- Comprehensive knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to travel as required 2 times a month a needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.

Ideal candidate location is in Santa Rosa, Ukiah, Healdsburg, Marin (1 hour drive distance to the Elk, CA.)
Payrate will Depend on Experience
