Job Title: Medical Assistant
Essential Job Responsibilities:
ENT Back Office/Medical Assistant duties include but not limited to:
- Patient vitals and intake health history and reason for visit
- Assisting the doctor(s) with charting patient exam, assessment and plan
- Ordering necessary tests, imaging etc
- Managing follow-up care
- Communicating with patients regarding their test results, prescriptions or other recommendations
- Prepping and assisting in office procedures
- Cleaning and sterilization of instruments
- Inventory and stocking of medical supplies
- Scribing
- Allergy injections
- Scanning, assigning and progress noting incoming documents and health records
- Exam room setup and routing cleaning
Front Office Duties :
- Greet and check in patients that enter the office
- Responsible for patient check in and check out related tasks.
- Answer multi-phone lines
- Work multiple scheduling system and multiple schedules
- Check reports daily for cancelled or reschedule requests
- Co-ordinate and schedule appointments for patients in person and on the phone
- Reschedule appointments when changes occur in the schedule
- Treat patients in a friendly, respectful, professional manner.
- Responsible for the timeliness of the patient flow and the accuracy of the information received from the patient.
- Have each patient sign in at the front desk for their appointment.
- Have follow-up patients complete and update patient demographic form as needed

Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course in medical assisting preferred.
Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
- Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
- Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)
Other Requirements: Current documentation of a national certification preferred. Current CPR certification preferred. Current health records with the appropriate immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).

- Knowledge of health care field and medical office protocols/procedures.
- Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to particular medical practice.
- Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families.

- Skill in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately.

- Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.

- Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.
Equipment Operated: Standard medical exam/office equipment, which may include computerized health information management system for medical records, etc.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of supplies. Occasional stress from dealing with many staff and patients.
