Eagle Brook Church is a multi-site church looking for a highly relational Pastor of Kids Ministries to join our campus team. This person will supervise Kids staff and lead volunteers. They are passionate about helping people use their spiritual gifts to serve kids, birth through fifth grade. POSITION SUMMARY
Leads volunteer teams to create safe and engaging experiences and develop relationships that transform lives, so that kids can know and follow Jesus. Champions recruitment and development of Early Childhood and Elementary volunteers. Equips and empowers high level leaders to lead others. Partners with families for pastoral support and spiritual direction. Reports to the Campus Pastor.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Casts and carries vision of what it means to prepare kids to become lifelong followers of Jesus
- Supervises and develops Kids staff as assigned
- Develops volunteer leaders by identifying, inspiring, and investing in Team Leads, Directors, and Large Group Leaders
- Equips volunteers through providing an environment in which volunteers are recruited, onboarded, connected, and growing spiritually to Own the Mission
- Carries-out the vision to ensure all kids regardless of disability or additional needs can participate
- Fosters ongoing relationships with families to understand the strengths, giftings, and needs of their kids
- Builds volunteer teams to support care plans for kids with identified needs and additional needs
- Delivers engaging and safe experiences for kids from drop-off to pick-up
- Fosters a culture of inviting people into living out the value of serving in kids ministries as room volunteers, large and small group volunteers, special needs, tech, and worship leaders
- Executes centrally designed Kids Ministries strategies, teaching, worship, and curriculum
- Upholds Kids Ministries safety policies and procedures ensuring volunteers are trained in and executing Kids safety guidelines
- Utilizes Eagle Brook’s data base tool to communicate with volunteers, manage processes, and schedule volunteers
- Provides pastoral care and spiritual direction for kids and their families
- Influences parents as leaders of their child’s spiritual development
- Provides input and feedback to Kids Ministries development team
- Performs Pastoral functions including on-call, visits, weddings, and funerals
- Works with staff at campus to assist with ministry needs of the campus
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 4 years) required
- Bachelor’s degree in education and/or kids’ ministry preferred, seminary training, or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 8 years) preferred
- 2 years of experience in building and leading teams of people
- 2 years of experience in Kids Ministries or education
- 1 years of experience working with child’s emotional, physical, and spiritual development
- Follower of Jesus and aligns with Eagle Brook’s nine core beliefs
- Meets Biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership
- Passion for sharing the Kids Ministries vision with families/volunteers
WORK SCHEDULE
Generally, Saturday – Wednesday or Sunday – Thursday based on weekend service schedule at assigned campus. Some evenings for meetings. Needs to be able to meet when volunteers are available.
