SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will provide support, consultation, and training to young children, parents, and staff within the Eagle County School District Early Childhood Department and strive to provide holistic care by meeting the developmental, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of the children served. Recognizing the importance that families play in the healthy development of children, the Eagle County School District Early Childhood Department has a family-centered approach by engaging families in services and connecting them to additional supports and resources when necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:
- Coordinate the Social Emotional Screening Process.
- Consult with Early Childhood Certified Teacher/Admins, ECSE and FSC to review Devereux Early Childhood Assessments (DECAs) and identify children needing follow up within the required time frame.
- Plan and implement classroom observation if requested by ECE Counselor, Early Childhood Certified Teacher/Admin, ECSE, FSC and/or families. ECE Counselors will discuss the observation with the Early Childhood Certified Teacher/Admin and/or ECSE prior to parent meetings.
- Provide trauma-informed behavioral health support and consultation to children, families, and staff in the Eagle County School District Early Childhood Department.
- Coordinate support meetings for all families identified with needs through the screening, observations, home visits and DECA review.
- Assist in the development and facilitation of individualized behavior support plans to support the success of identified children.
- Provide mental health consultation to programs to monitor progress for identified children and address any new concerns (Kid Talks)
- Provide staff/parent coaching and training to promote social-emotional development and mental health.
- Serves as a resource regarding social and emotional needs of the children including crisis intervention and provides support to staff and families during crisis situations.
- Function as an effective member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Responsible for record and reporting of services provided for monitoring purposes.
- Serves as a resource to special education staff including attending child studies and student staffing’s when appropriate.
- Serves as a resource regarding social and emotional needs of the children including crisis intervention and provides support to staff and families during crisis situations.
- Establishes and demonstrates positive human relations with children, parents, other staff members, and the community.
- Maintains an ongoing program of professional growth that meets District expectations and personal professional goals.
- Ensures the accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and security of all student information.
- Complies with District and School policies and procedures including meeting with assigned students at scheduled location and time and supporting systems for communicating student goals and successes to the community and parents.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Background in developmental/early childhood areas.
- Experienced in assessment and interventions with young children (under age six).
- Experienced in consultation and/or working with social service or health service providers to youth.
- Should be familiar with the social, emotional, behavioral, developmental, and academic milestones of children birth through kindergarten.
- Knowledge and experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschool age children.
- Knowledge of formal and informal resource networks and supports regarding mental health and social and emotional well-being of young children.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Licensed or License-eligible in Counseling or Social Work.
