This position is for a temporary Payroll Administrator to work at EAH Corporate in San Rafael, CA. This is a hybrid remote position for 4 months. Qualified candidates will have an Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years payroll experience. Experience with outsourced payroll software as well as automated timekeeping software. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Salary range: $32.69 - $49.52 per hour; hiring range for new employees is generally $32.69 - $41.11per hour, DOE. Please note an offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate and the current salary level of individuals working at EAH in a similar role.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Under general supervision and demonstrating a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, performs all activities required to process multi-state biweekly and monthly payroll including maintaining related records, processing involuntary deductions such as garnishments and levies, preparing accounting transactions and reports required to accurately bill sites. Responsible for benefit and workers compensation billing, and benefit plan audits. Regularly documents and updates procedures. Provides time and attendance software training and prepares ad hoc reports as requested by outside agencies and management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Payroll
- Performs all activities required to process multi-state biweekly and monthly payroll.
- Provides oversight and assistance with daily timekeeping.
- Reconciles, audits and ensures accurate payroll transactions. Identifies and resolves discrepancies and makes recommendations to improve workflow and accuracy.
- Prepares journal entries. Works with Controller on any payroll.
- Prepares and reviews final pay and manual.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records of reports of all payroll.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state & local payroll, wage & hour laws and best practices.
- Interacts with departments and staff to resolve issues that may arise with regard to payroll.
- Serves as the Payroll subject-matter expert in all system related activities and troubleshoots issues. At the direction of HR Director, provides training on payroll policies and process.
- Reviews and reconciles quarterly tax filings from payroll service provider and addresses any discrepancies.
- Creates payroll reports for management, including ensuring accurate payroll and benefits charges to the sites.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditor. Creates and documents HRIS reports to automate routine reports.
- Stays informed of any system updates in payroll and timekeeping software and makes recommendations to HR Director as to how to update procedures in response.
- Continuously identifies strategies to streamline and improve payroll process.
- Provide training and direct work of junior payroll staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years payroll experience. Experience with outsourced payroll software as well as automated timekeeping software. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
DESIRABLE ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Payroll Professional designation (CPP).
- Experience with Kronos.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, HR or related field.
- Experience with UKG Software.
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS
EAH Housing conducts criminal background checks on all candidates who have received a conditional job offer. Once you have received such an offer, you will be required to submit and pass our criminal background requirements. EAH also verifies education and employment history. DRUG TESTING
EAH Housing requires all candidates who have received a conditional job offer to submit to drug testing within 72 hours from acceptance of our job offer. EAH Housing does not test for marijuana/cannabis. Satisfactory completion of drug testing is a requirement of employment with EAH.
