This position ensures accurate payroll processing and compliance with state and federal regulations. The role supports Heath’s People operations by maintaining key payroll administrative functions and providing exceptional team support.Position ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with state, federal, and local payroll laws, including tax filings, garnishments, overtime and holiday calculationsProcess weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local regulations to maintain accuracy and timelinessManage and oversee employee benefit eligibility, enrollment and deductionsSupport the People Team with employee inquiries regarding payroll, 401(k), and health benefits enrollmentReconcile benefits invoices, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure accurate reportingManage payroll-related audits, such as 401(k), healthcare, and workers' compensation audits, by maintaining and preparing accurate required documentation and reportsMaintain the Paycom payroll system for precise employee tracking and reportingPrepare and analyze monthly payroll and benefits-related reports for departmentsManage COBRA compliance, ensuring eligible former employees receive necessary information and notificationsQualifications4 years of experience processing payroll, including multi-state payroll (California experience required)Proficiency in Paycom with demonstrated ability to manage updates and troubleshoot reporting issuesAdvanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets, including creating and using pivot tables, vlookups, and performing data analysisStrong organizational and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to detail and accuracyProven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and integrityExcellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll and benefits matters effectivelyExperience with payroll-related audits, including 401(k), healthcare, or workers' compensationKnowledge of additional payroll systems or benefits administration toolsWork Environment / Hours / CompensationThis position is a temporary 3-4 month assignment. The position is a full-time, hybrid role. You must be available to work at least 2 days in-office; Tuesdays in our San Francisco office and one other day a week, office location and day are flexible. During the first two weeks of training, we may ask you to be in-office additional days. The hours for this position are generally 9 : 00 a.m. - 5 : 00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
