Position Summary  
The Temporary Payroll Administrator will oversee payroll operations and benefits administration. This position ensures accurate payroll processing and compliance with state and federal regulations. The role supports Heath’s People operations by maintaining key payroll administrative functions and providing exceptional team support.

Position Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local payroll laws, including tax filings, garnishments, overtime and holiday calculations
• Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local regulations to maintain accuracy and timeliness
• Manage and oversee employee benefit eligibility, enrollment and deductions
• Support the People Team with employee inquiries regarding payroll, 401(k), and health benefits enrollment
• Reconcile benefits invoices, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting
• Manage payroll-related audits, such as 401(k), healthcare, and workers' compensation audits, by maintaining and preparing accurate required documentation and reports
• Maintain the Paycom payroll system for precise employee tracking and reporting
• Prepare and analyze monthly payroll and benefits-related reports for departments
• Manage COBRA compliance, ensuring eligible former employees receive necessary information and notifications   

• 4 years of experience processing payroll, including multi-state payroll (California experience required
• Proficiency in Paycom with demonstrated ability to manage updates and troubleshoot reporting issues
• Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets, including creating and using pivot tables, vlookups, and performing data analysis
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to detail and accuracy
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and integrity
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll and benefits matters effectively
• Experience with payroll-related audits, including 401(k), healthcare, or workers' compensation
• Knowledge of additional payroll systems or benefits administration tools

Work Environment/ Hours / Compensation
This position is a temporary 3-4 month assignment. The position is a full-time, hybrid role. You must be available to work at least 2 days in-office; Tuesdays in our San Francisco office and one other day a week, office location and day are flexible. During the first two weeks of training, we may ask you to be in-office additional days. The hours for this position are generally 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  This position pays $38.00 - $45.00 hourly, based on experience.
