Overview: East Central Regional Library has an opening for a Library Technology Manager at ECRL Headquarters in Cambridge, MN. This position a salaried position. The full salary range is $69,888-$97,884.80 and the hiring range is $69,888-$83,886.40. Application review will begin on 2/27/2025 and will continue until filled.
Summary: The Library Technology Manager is the lead staff member responsible for planning, implementation, evaluation and maintenance and repair of the library’s technology infrastructure, staff training, and the overall support of the technology needs of the Library and its patrons. This position plays a key role in the Library’s management team.
Essential Job Specific Duties:
1. Plans, manages and directs all activities related to the Library’s Information Technology equipment and services, including but not limited to: staff and public computers, phone system, internet, staff email, library server network & security, camera systems.
2. Develops and implements all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards and patron privacy.
3. Manages technology budget and negotiates and administers vendor, outsourced, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
4. Coordinates with Assistant Director and Branch Librarians to develop, plan and conduct technology-related programs for youth and adults.
5. Provides instruction and training to staff on the Library’s technology.
6. As a part of the Library’s management team, reports department’s activities and progress on library initiatives through regular meetings, as well as through monthly board reports.
7. As a part of the Library’s management team, contributes to library-wide strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development/review.
8. Coordinates the Library’s E-Rate funding.
9. Coordinates with appropriate staff to manage the Library’s website.
10. Writes, implements, manages, or provides input for grants as needed.
11. Initiates and manages complex projects in support of library services and the library’s strategic plan.
12. Provides positive leadership, supervision, and evaluation of IT Department.
13. Coordinates with Library’s Technical Services Department on development of Library’s ILS, assisting with development or customization of features as needed.
14. Coordinates and assists Resource Librarian with technology-specific circulation programs, including hotspot loans.
15. Attends meetings and conferences and reads professional literature to keep up to date on trends in library service.

18. Identifies organizational problems and opportunities for improvement and brings solutions and suggestions to management’s attention.
19. Functions as a team member by assisting, supporting, and encouraging other employees in any way possible.
20. Maintains working knowledge of software used by the library.
Non-Essential Job Duties:
21. Performs related work as required, willingly and eagerly.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Valid MN Driver’s License, be eligible for one, or have access to transportation. 3 years related experience with 1 year supervisory.
Preferred: previous experience working in public libraries; project management and problem-solving skills; strong communications skills; ability to work in a team environment.
