We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Insurance Billing and Credentialing Specialist to join our team. This role requires a strong understanding of mental health billing processes with insurance companies including, Medicaid and Medicare. The ideal candidate will also possess managerial skills to support our counseling team, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and provide staff support.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Billing and Claims Management:**
- Process and submit insurance claims for mental health services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Medicaid and Medicare guidelines.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing codes and procedures in the mental health field.
- **Credentialing:**
- Oversee the credentialing process for mental health providers, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and compliant with state and federal regulations.
- Liaise with insurance companies to verify provider credentials and maintain updated records.
- **Managerial Responsibilities:**
- Supervise by providing training and support as needed.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve billing and credentialing processes.
- Monitor team performance and provide feedback to ensure high quality and efficient service delivery.
- **Compliance:**
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to billing and credentialing.
- Conduct regular audits of billing practices and staff performance to identify areas for improvement.
- **Staff Support:**
- Act as a resource for staff inquiries related to billing, claims, and credentialing issues.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure staff members are informed about billing practices and compliance requirements.
**Qualifications:**
- Degree or certificate in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred.
