Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Rooms to lead and oversee the daily operations of our luxury ski-in/ski-out resort in Snowmass Village, Colorado. The Director of Rooms will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of guest and owner satisfaction and operational efficiency across multiple departments, including the front office, housekeeping, and spa. This role requires a passionate leader with a focus on exceptional service, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the luxury hospitality market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the resort, ensuring all departments (front office, housekeeping, and spa) run smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards.
- Collaborate with department heads to optimize workflows, resolve operational challenges, and enhance the guest experience.
- Ensure all resort services and amenities meet or exceed luxury standards, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
- Guest Experience:
- Lead efforts to provide an exceptional guest experience from check-in to check-out, ensuring guests receive personalized, attentive service.
- Monitor guest feedback, address concerns promptly, and implement improvements based on guest reviews and staff input.
- Champion the resort’s guest service philosophy and work to create memorable, unique experiences for each guest.
- Staff Management and Development:
- Manage, train, and motivate a team of front office, housekeeping, and spa staff to ensure high-performance standards and a positive, supportive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching and development opportunities, and implement team-building initiatives.
- Ensure staff are properly trained on safety protocols, guest service standards, and resort policies.
- Financial Management:
- Monitor budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation to ensure efficient use of resources and profitability for the resort.
- Work closely with the finance team to track and report on departmental expenses, labor costs, and revenue.
- Implement cost-control strategies while maintaining the luxury experience guests expect.
- Resort and Brand Management:
- Ensure the resort’s physical environment is well-maintained and meets the standards for a luxury property, including guest rooms, common areas, spa facilities, and amenities.
- Coordinate with maintenance and housekeeping departments to quickly resolve any facility issues that may arise.
- Marketing and Guest Relations:
- Work alongside the marketing team to implement seasonal promotions, special events, and packages that attract new and repeat guests.
- Build strong relationships with high-end clientele and owners and ensure their preferences and expectations are met during each visit.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that all health and safety standards are adhered to in all areas of the resort, including cleanliness, sanitation, and guest safety.
- Oversee the training of staff on emergency procedures, first aid, and relevant safety protocols.

Pay Rate: 120k-140k Executive Committee Incentive Plan

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in luxury resort management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of resort operations, including front office, housekeeping, and spa services.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and cost control.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- A passion for exceptional guest service and creating memorable experiences.
- Knowledge of winter sports and luxury ski resort operations is a plus.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are a bonus.
