Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

We are looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist to join the Easterseals MA team.  Essential Functions

  • Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
  • Provide hands-on physical therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercises, stretches, and modalities, as directed by the treatment plan.
  • Contribute observations and relevant information to assist in the formulation of treatment goals. 
  • Ensure the proper use of assistive devices and adaptive equipment during patient treatment sessions.
  • Collaborate with the physical therapist and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, addressing questions and concerns related to the treatment plan.
  • Monitor and motivate patients during rehabilitation sessions to ensure safety and optimal participation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with regulatory standards.

Participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical skills and stay current with best practices in physical therapy.

 Mentorship / CEU / Professional Growth

  • Ability to experience working in new settings and/or with novel patient populations
  • New graduates and/or therapists working in a new setting are paired with an experienced mentor 
  • Access to an interdisciplinary network of experienced clinicians to help navigate novel situations (e.g. AAC, ATP, OT, SLP, BCBA, etc.)

 Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
  • Valid/current professional license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Massachusetts    
  • Ability to travel to/between multiple work locations
  • Must pass extensive background checks and provide professional references
  • If selected for hire, candidates must be able to provide a recent physical indicating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job either with or without accommodations, proof of negative TB test, and required immunizations (including fully-vaccinated status for Covid-19).
