Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team as a Foreign Language Teacher for grades 9-12. The ideal candidate with have a strong background in foreign language and will be committed to fostering a stimulating learning environment for students. This role involves teaching students in a public school setting, managing classroom dynamics, and providing academic advising to help students achieve their educational goals.
Responsibilities
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the time designated.
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
- Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
- Maintains standards of classroom behavior.
- Strives to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Evaluates student progress on a regular basis.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
- Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board of Education policy.
- Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes.
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
- Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Provides for professional growth, to include maintaining certification requirements.
- And all other duties as assigned by the School Board / Superintendent / building Principal and / or immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
- State certification for grade level and/or subject area
- Bachelor's Degree
- Prior teaching experience
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed appropriate and acceptable by the Board of Education
