Job Title: Tribal Mental Health Program Director
General Definition:
As the Tribal Mental Health Program Director, you will be responsible for overseeing initiatives and contracts on the provision of substance use and mental health related prevention, intervention, harm reduction and recovery services funded by the HHS SAMSHA Tribal Mental Health Grant. In addition, an essential duty of this position is to provide timely and effective services to the Tribe, Tribal entities, and the Tribal members.

Essential Job Functions:
· Collaborates with ESTO partners, other state agencies, and community partners on efforts focused on suicide prevention and substance abuse prevention, harm reduction, behavioral health interventions, and recovery supports.
· Responsible for the development and provision of specialized substance use prevention programs for individuals in the community including media campaigns, youth programs, and treatment services.
· Uses a collaborative approach to assist with funding decisions; oversight of staff, programs, and contracts; participating in state level committees; providing training and technical assistance to community partners.
· Establish and maintain a prominent role in the delivery of substance use prevention, intervention, harm reduction, and recovery supports in Ottawa County, Oklahoma and the surrounding four state areas.
· Assist the public or other County Staff with Specialized Department procedures.
· Provides a variety of information about Department policies and procedures.
· Completes other related support work assignments as requested by Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
· High School Diploma or GED required.
· Qualified Mental Health Professional license or Drug and Alcohol Counselor license in the State of Oklahoma.
Preferred Education and Qualifications/Experience· Experience in suicide prevention and/or the provision of prevention, intervention, recovery, or harm reduction services with individuals who have a substance use disorder.· Experience in a leadership or management role (e.g. delegating and assigning work, monitoring workloads, mentoring, and training, establishing work goals, leading team meetings or work groups, etc.).· Experience in contract or grant administration (e.g. developing grant agreements or contracts; monitoring performance and compliance, developing, and monitoring annual budgets, responding to procurements, etc.). · Experience working in a tribal setting preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters concerning the program and Tribal business in general.· Able to communicate professionally verbally and in written communication.· Insurance billing experience preferred· Organizational skills.· Detail oriented.· Multi-Tasking and time management skills.· Data management and spreadsheet maintenance skills.· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).· Excellent customer service.· Respect for all Tribal Members, Tribal Officials, Supervisors, and Co-Workers.· Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution. Licenses/Certifications/Other:
· Must be able to pass an adjudicated background check as a condition of employment.
· Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result.
· Current valid driver’s license.
· Positive verifiable work references.
