Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy, or its equivalent, from a recognized college or university.
- For those earning licensure prior to 2007, a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy is required.
- Current license by the State Board of Registration in Medicine
- Three years experience working with children as a therapist is preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Work as a member of the team (family, staff and other service providers) to provide quality supports and services for children and their families.
- Participate in team evaluations to determine developmental status and initial or ongoing eligibility.
- Develop IFSP's with other team members.
- Maintain professional standards, and current skills in therapy techniques.
- Provide occupational therapy services for children.
- Write progress notes on time schedule addressing the child's strengths, needs and progress.
- Complete record keeping as required by licensing/certifying agency.
- Aid in maintaining equipment and workspace.
- Make home visits and function as a service coordinator assisting parents in obtaining or coordinating other needed services. (NH, RI)
- Attend staff meetings, case conferences, and other meetings as assigned
- Assist in staff development and training.
