FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-Time (40 hours a week) Monday – Friday

WORK LOCATION: Paducah, KY

POSITION SUMMARY

Easterseals West Kentucky, Inc. is searching for a full-time Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education for our Child Development Center. The assistant director will be responsible for developing, administering, and coordinating all programs of childcare services. The assistant director is responsible for supervising all staff employed and contracted to provide services to children in the childcare program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education will perform all or some of the following:

· Ensure a safe, healthy environment for children and staff.

· To maintain an effective and efficient program of services in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and best practice guidelines.

· Establish, develop, and maintain quality control standards to ensure that best practice guidelines are being met or exceeded.

· Report all suspected child abuse/neglect to appropriate agencies.

· Ensure all classrooms adhere to best practice guidelines set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, STARS rating system (current level of attainment), and state regulations.

· Remain up to date on state childcare regulations and any applicable changes.

· To maintain professional development, continuing education, and licensing requirements for childcare providers employed in the children and medical services department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND KEY COMPETENCIES:

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent

· Bachelor’s Degree preferred

· Director credential or willingness to obtain one

· Previous experience required

· Ability to multi-task and manage a variety of projects and goals

· Highly organized and detail-oriented

· Must be a citizen of the United States and possess a valid driver’s license

· Able to pass a pre-employment background check
