We are looking for Sr Maintenance Technicians, Maintenance Leads or Maintenance Supervisors who are ready for their next leadership role with a stable, growing company located in Merrillville, IN

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs Maintenance Planning – analyze situations, determines objectives, prepares action plans, prepares budgets, examines alternatives, prepares reports
  • Organizes, directs and coordinates all aspects of maintenance activities to include delegation, assign work, establish work plans, hold staff accountable and measures effectiveness
  • Determines staffing requirements, trains associates, and administer discipline
  • Motivates associates, establishes rewards, establish standards and leads by example
  • Controls through metrics (KPI’s), directs activities, prepares corrective actions, controls labor expenditure
  • Develops solutions to problems and implements corrective action plans to reverse negative trends
  • Decision making authority for expenses with budget oversight
  • Proposes capital improvements
  • Communicates with the Operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
  • Ensure that all equipment is functioning efficiently to the highest possible standards.
  • Communicates directly with QC to ensure effective participation by maintenance technicians in the implementation of QC policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the hiring of maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment with consideration of all those who may be working in the same area.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
  • Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department and reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.
  • Coordinates activities with the Plant Operations Departments.
  • Assist with Capital improvement projects as needed.
  • Enter maintenance data in CMMS program and ensure that the system is updated and accurate.
  • Perform any required fabrication duties as needed.
  • Monitor all supplies within the maintenance shop and maintain proper inventory control.
  • Coordinate continual updating of the PM program to the equipment’s specific needs.
  • Identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Ensure that your work environment is safe.
  • Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices
  • Coordinates fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
  • Responsible for 24 hr. emergency maintenance service as needed.
  • Assist with planning/implementing of plant improvements and expansions.
  • Conducts employee performance reviews to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians.
  • Maintains and updates operating/training manuals for the maintenance department.
  • Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors.
  • Complete employee payroll time sheets.
  • Comply with all company Quality, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety Standards
  • Required to be a member of the HACCP and Safety Committee to ensure the safety and quality of all products manufactured
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to stand for the duration of a 12-hour shift with applicable breaks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – team player
  • Hard worker who is a self-starter and proactive
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems and Microsoft Office software preferred
  • Managing groups of salaried and hourly employees in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Great verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
