Location: Los Angeles, CA
ECC is seeking candidates for a Site Superintendent position working on-site in Los Angeles, CA for the LA fires debris removal project. Qualified local candidates and candidates with significant fires debris removal project experience are encouraged to apply. This position is full time and provides a full benefits package. This position requires working extended days (including Saturday and Sunday) and extended hours, as needed by the project. Additional compensation may be provided. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions. Project start date is immediate and the position is expected to last approximately 12 months. In this position you will: 
 
  • Coordinate with the Project Engineer, Health and Safety Officer, and Quality Control Officer for interaction of task prioritization
  • Compliance with health and safety and quality control requirements as identified by functional officers
  • Assist and lead field sampling teams in achieving task requirements
  • Key implementers of field activities and tasks preparatory to field activities
  • Assist in identifying and performing general labor tasks to achieve project objectives under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Contribute methods of approach and identify solutions to logistical or operational challenges during mobilization, sampling, surveying, deconning, and general field operations
  • Assist in identifying task-specific equipment to achieve the objectives of a task.  When appropriate, operate the equipment as needed during mobilization, sampling, surveying, deconning, and general field operation
  • Assume the role of sample team lead to assist the quality control officer and health and safety officer in maintaining compliance with project work plans, standard operating procedures, and sound field practices while achieving project objectives
  • Coordinate with the operations Manager, operations planner, quality control manager, project chemist, project engineer, and project geologist to prioritize field activities and identify task assignments.
  • In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position.
 
Basic Requirements
  • Proven ability to implement programs to address complex needs and problems
  • Ability to coordinate with staff on various task assignments and field activities
  • Knowledge of federal contracting regulations and requirements
  • Eight years of progressively responsible experience on environmental or construction projects
  • Travel: Must be able and willing to work on-site at project location
  • Five years supervisory experience leading multi-disciplinary teams with experience managing schedule and budget for large construction projects 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Construction Management or related field required.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
  • Current 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification
 
Preferred Proficiency Requirements
  • Prior work experience on a fire debris removal project or similar disaster debris removal project
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Construction Management or related field required.
  • Experience with sampling, surveying, and deconning

 

ECC targeted salary range for US locations average is $85,000 to $105,000 annually. Additional compensation for hours worked available.
Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
