Position Overview:

• Seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and oversee the IT infrastructure deployment for a building renovation project.
• This role requires exceptional project management skills to coordinate multiple vendors, manage stakeholders, and ensure successful project execution.
• The ideal consultant will have a strong background in IT infrastructure, construction, and renovation projects, with the ability to mitigate risks, prevent scope creep, and ensure timely delivery within budget.
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Project Leadership & Coordination:
• Act as the primary point of contact between Client and Vendors.
• Oversee the turnkey completion of the site, ensuring all IT infrastructure components are properly installed and functional.
• Facilitate seamless communication between IT teams, construction crews, and third-party vendors.
• Infrastructure Deployment & Issue Resolution:
• Manage and coordinate the installation and activation of:
• 600 computers, printers, and networked devices.
• Emergency phones, security cameras, mag lock systems.
• IT-based clock installations.
• Ensure proper patching of devices with Excel Communications and network configuration by Juniper.
• Troubleshoot technical issues by coordinating with appropriate vendors and IT teams.
• Project Planning & Execution:
• Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, tracking key milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
• Oversee Infoblox, fiber optic link setups, and network infrastructure to ensure proper implementation.
• Manage scheduling, resource allocation, and risk assessments to ensure on-time project completion.
• Risk & Scope Management:
• Proactively identify risks, potential scope creep, and budget overruns, escalating issues as necessary.
• Ensure that customer requests align with the defined scope of work and do not impact project timelines or costs.
• Implement strategies to mitigate risks and keep the project on track.
  

Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience.
• Proven experience as an IT Project Manager.
• Strongly preferred if they have experience in building renovation or construction projects involving IT infrastructure; similar will be accepted.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple vendors and teams effectively.
• Understands scope of work and knows when to raise a red flag when customer requests are out of scope that can cause scope creep, schedule delays, and budget overruns.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration and resolve conflicts.
• Understanding of networking, firewalls, and wireless technologies (extensive knowledge of all disciplines is a major plus).
• Consulting and client facing experience, preferred.
• Experience working with Smartsheet.
