Project Background:
Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) in its role as scientific advisor to the Department of Energy (DOE) for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is responsible for evaluating the long-term performance of the WIPP repository. This risk-based Performance Assessment (PA) is accomplished with numerous scientific models and codes. The PA forms the technical basis of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification of WIPP and the periodic Recertification for WIPP. This position will support Quality Assurance program development, coaching, and surveillance. Further duties will include supporting the SNL technical staff in additional assignments (e.g., representation of Sandia in documentation, explanation, and defense of work completed for above activities related to EPA-mandated compliance recertification applications (CRAs) to the EPA) as directed.
Job Duties:
Shall provide unclassified and classified communication services support, in the production of designing as it relates to publications, exhibits, multimedia, and presentation services on an as-needed basis. The subcontractor shall furnish all personnel, materials, equipment, facilities, and delivery services necessary to fulfill the necessary Statement of Work.
Must demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, delivering excellent customer service. The designer must possess the ability to create cohesive and visually appealing designs based on input from multiple stakeholders and must have experience managing all facets of the design process, including concept development, layout, and final production. Must be able to observe and follow client corporate design Common Look and Feel policy for all communication products intended for external audiences developed under this subcontract Must be able to Proficiency with design software programs, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), is required. Support design meetings, assist in project reviews, and manage records of design decisions. Ability to work effectively in a team environment with diverse groups, produce designs with short lead times, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in graphic design or other related field
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience working in creative design, graphic design, or other related field with demonstration of skills creating high quality design OR four (4) years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance ("L", "Q", or "Sigma 15")
- Ability to gain and maintain access to and travel to Client Locations or other work sites designated by Client
