Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s (NYSED) Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking candidates for an Information Technology Specialist 3 Programming position within the Shared Platform Services Team. This team is responsible for a multitude of systems including the Atlassian environment which includes Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence and BitBucket. The incumbent of this position will be held to high standards of integrity and customer service, while also being expected to perform advanced technical work on complex projects. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: • Monitor and support the Atlassian (Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, BitBucket) environment; • Work tickets and requests submitted by end users through the ITS Help Center for Atlassian products; • Assist in the planning and execution of project work regarding improvements to our Atlassian environment; • Conduct analysis and testing associated with new features and upgrades to the Atlassian environment; • Apply agency defined security policies and measures regarding identity access management and licensing; • Ensures seamless integration, troubleshooting, and continuous support for all third-party software and products to enhance operational efficiency and user experience; • Provide expert level technical support to customers and the Help Desk regarding Atlassian issues; • Develop detailed technical procedures and documentation for all Atlassian products; • Knowledge of Linux operating systems is a plus but not required; • Supervise lower-level staff in the Atlassian Unit.
