Qualifications

Position Overview: As an IT System Administrator Intern at Education Management Solutions (EMS), you will assist our IT team in managing, maintaining, and optimizing our IT infrastructure. This internship provides hands-on experience with system administration, network management, IT support and compliance in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining IT systems, including servers, networks, and cloud environments.
• Support troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
• Perform routine system updates, patches, and backups.
• Document IT processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
• Assist in setting up and configuring workstations, software, and network devices.
• Support SOC II, cybersecurity initiatives and implement security best practices.
• Collaborate with IT staff to improve system performance and efficiency.

• Develop hands-on experience with system administration tasks, including server management and network troubleshooting.
• Gain proficiency in configuring and managing operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).
• Understand networking fundamentals (IP addressing, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and VPN setup).

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).
• Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
