Position: Paralegal
Location: Denville, New Jersey
Responsibilities:
- Utilize case management software to organize client file, track progress, maintain deadlines, and communicate with clients via text software
- Drafting correspondence, assist in preparation of litigation-related documents, including, but not limited to pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, and discovery requests/responses.
- Monitor litigation deadlines and maintain litigation calendar (meetings, depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, other important dates.)
- Manage and maintain case files, ensuring materials are organized, accessible, and up to date with regular client contact.
- Provide administrative support to the lawyer to enhance law office effectiveness.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, law firms, medical offices, insurance adjusters, process servers, and court personnel.
- Prepare disbursement of settlement funds and request checks from accounting department
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff members.
- Perform research using various resources to support case preparation and strategy.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of the legal profession in all interactions and tasks.
Qualifications:
- 2 years' experience as a paralegal
- Works well under pressure in a fast-paced office setting with a positive attitude
- Familiarity with NJ Court Rules, legal procedures and E-Courts
- Excellent secretarial and organization skills
- Fluent in MS office suite
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited program, a plus
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and interact well with clients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
