What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper position at Eisenhower Center?
The internal Housekeeper has the task of regular cleaning of specific areas and special cleaning when a need develops. This also includes cleaning an empty room to prepare it for a new admission. The Housekeeper also orders all supplies that are needed by the facility.
Housekeeper Role and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for knowing and observing relevant fire and safety relevant fire and safety regulations as well as being aware of and practicing infection control policies and procedures as related to the housekeeping position
- Able to assist in facility emergencies (i.e. cleaning carpets after flood), preparing for special events (i.e. set-up and clean up).
- Keeping areas assigned clean, meeting the standards set according to Eisenhower Center expectations.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures regarding chemical usage and use clean up and follow infection control procedures.
- Assist with special cleaning assignment, i.e. cleaning windows, light fixtures, floor cleaning and any other related housekeeping task assigned.
- Manages and uses time effectively to complete regular duties assigned tasks and scheduled and scheduled breaks.
- Clean all client rooms, baths, showers, and staff offices, therapy rooms and public areas daily.
- Clean floors, shampoo carpets, wash walls, clean woodwork.
- Polish furniture in common areas and polish door plates
- Work with Maintenance, Food Service and Rehab staff in maintaining a clean, safe and sanitary environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Housekeeper Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license (Required)
- Ability to lift and move items
- Time management skills
- Team Player
- Work skills displaying thoroughness in cleaning
Housekeeper Pay rate: $17
