What You Do
The Vice President of Business Development will lead the company's efforts to grow its market presence, develop strategic partnerships, and explore new business opportunities. This role is crucial in driving long-term growth within our industry by identifying new revenue streams, expanding the customer base, and overseeing the business development team. The VP will work closely with senior leadership to align business development strategies with overall company goals.

Requirements
Strategic Growth and Planning:
- Develop and execute strategies to increase the organization’s market share within the DMV and potentially further.
- Work with marketing team to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and areas for expansion.
- Establish long-term business development objectives and ensure they align with the company’s strategic vision.
Business Development:
- Lead efforts to identify, negotiate, and secure new business opportunities, including company acquisitions, organic pickups, and partnerships.
- Cultivate relationships with key clients, developers, industry partners, and stakeholders.
- Seek innovative revenue models, service offerings, and potential geographic expansion.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and business partners to foster retention and growth through CAI and other industry organizations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for high-value clients, representing the company’s interests.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of business development professionals.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments like marketing, operations, and finance to ensure seamless execution of strategies.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Market Intelligence and Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct competitive analysis to understand the market landscape and identify strategic opportunities.
- Use insights to fine-tune business development strategies and ensure the company stays ahead of the competition.
Financial Oversight:
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking of business development and marketing activities including CAI membership and event sponsorships.
- Evaluate the profitability of new business opportunities and ensure they meet organizational ROI targets.
Brand Development and Positioning:
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure the brand’s messaging is consistent and enhances the organization’s position in the property management market.
- Help raise the company’s visibility and reputation in the industry.
Performance Metrics and Reporting:
- Develop KPIs to track the performance of business development initiatives.
- Provide regular reports to the CEO/President on progress, challenges, and results.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA) is highly preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, with at least 5 years in the property management sector.
- Proven success in driving business growth, securing strategic partnerships, and expanding market presence.
- In-depth knowledge of the property management industry, including market trends, customer needs, and regulatory landscapes.
- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory compliance in property management.
- Proficiency in CRM software and business development tools.
