The Packer selects or builds appropriate containers for a variety of both small and large components/products. They utilize detailed work orders to proficiently pack materials for secure dispatch.

- Select, prepare, and build shipping containers based on work orders.
- Ensure proper packaging materials and special handling procedures for safe shipping.
- Handle fragile components and determine appropriate packing materials.
- Seal containers using various tools such as tape, wood, shrink-wrapping, and fasteners.
- Utilize packing equipment like nail guns, staple guns, circular saws, strappers, wrapping machines, and forklifts.
- Load materials and products onto processing equipment and pallets.
- Measure, weigh, and count products to ensure compliance with work orders.
- Use computer systems to complete customer orders and record information.
- Inspect products for quality compliance and remove defective items.
- Set up and prepare products in the shipping area, ensuring proper alignment and packing.
- Label and address packages according to work orders and customer specifications.
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections of material handling equipment.
- Load and unload shipments, operate forklifts, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Attend annual HazMat and DOT training and certification.
Skills and Requirements:
- Knowledge of packing procedures and materials
- Ability to handle fragile components
- Proficient with packing tools and equipment (nail gun, staple gun, saws, strappers, wrapping machines, forklifts)
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to measure, weigh, and count products accurately
- Basic computer skills for order processing and record-keeping
- Quality compliance inspection
- Ability to lift and move heavy items
- Good communication skills
- Forklift certification (preferred)
- HazMat and DOT certification (preferred)
Working Hours: 7:00AM-3:30PM
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
