Part-Time : up to 19 hours per week. Hourly Rate: $18.41
JOB SUMMARY:
The Child Care Assistant will be responsible for providing nurturing, developmentally appropriate, child care for children of El Nido Early Head Start clients who are participating in group programs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Greets children as they arrive with parent in a friendly, welcoming manner; assists the child to separate from parent and enter the group (if any) of children.
· Provides opportunities for play for children; assists them with playing with/using toys, books, and art materials.
· Organizes and supervises developmentally appropriate group games and activities.
· Plans and prepares activities, toys and other materials prior to children’s arrival; puts away items and cleans up play area after their departure.
· Reports any accidents that occur while children are in child care; identifies and reports on all suspected incidents of child abuse or injury.
· Follows the program’s Covid policies and procedures and follows program’s indoor/outdoor safety checklist.
· Prepares and serves snack to Child Care attendees.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· High School Diploma/GED Required. A.A degree preferred.
· Completion of at least 6 Early Childhood Education (ECE) Units.
· Experience as a pre-school aide, elementary school aide preferred.
· A basic knowledge of child care methods.
· A basic knowledge of the child development process
· A nurturing, friendly manner.
· Ability to work with diverse communities.
· General computer skills
· Basic knowledge of program services, child abuse laws
· Valid first aid and CPR certification.
