What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Test Technician - 2nd Shift position at Element Materials Technology?
Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Materials Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform metallurgical sectioning, mounting, polishing, and routine evaluations
- Evaluations include grain size, coating thickness, machining artefacts, hardness
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications and perform the testing required
- Possess the ability to work alone periodically throughout the work day with supervision
- Able to develop a proven ability to set up and perform a variety of tests according to customer specifications
Skills / Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED certificate preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in a testing related field preferred
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety preferred
- Possess computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Must be a US citizen
