What You Get To Do:

The Facility and Safety Supervisor oversees a variety of interior and exterior facility-related matters for two key locations within the corporate structure (885 Trademark and 855 Sandhill). This role provides support and oversight for facility maintenance, construction projects, janitorial contracts, and supply procurement while taking full responsibility for ensuring safety compliance and training throughout the organization.


The position requires exceptional problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritize, and the ability to work effectively in demanding and sometimes emergent situations. This hands-on role requires the candidate to handle miscellaneous facility needs that do not require technical third-party resources. Examples include building desks, paint touch-ups, hanging pictures and changing water filters. The candidate must also ensure that all facilities operate safely and efficiently, enforce safety standards, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

 

Challenge Yourself – The Specifics:

    • Facility and Equipment Maintenance
      • Perform routine (daily and weekly) inspections and safety walks to ensure facilities meet operational and safety standards
      • Troubleshoot and resolve basic facility and equipment issues promptly. This includes but is not limited to, basic plumbing and electrical issues, door adjustments, blind repairs, painting, furniture builds, and repairs
      • Coordinate with building management that snow removal, landscaping needs, parking lot repairs, roof leak issues, etc. are addressed on a timely basis
      • Oversee building equipment maintenance schedules, ensuring functionality and compliance to include, but not limited to: HVAC, dock doors, electrical, compressed air systems
    • Safety and Compliance Management
      • Act as the Safety Enforcement Officer, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations
      • Conduct and document regular safety walks of facilities to identify and address risks proactively
      • Manage and maintain SDS (Safety Data Sheets) for compliance and accessibility
      • Collaborate with the Human Resources department to address safety concerns and provide additional training as needed for all employees
      • Track and ensure all equipment certifications are current and compliant with regulations to include, but are not limited to: forklift, scissor lift, manufacturing and distribution center equipment
      • Develop and maintain a written fire protection program and fire extinguisher training as required
      • Develop, implement, and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures
      • Conduct safety training and drills for employees, including fire evacuation, first aid, and hazardous material handling
      • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and inspections
      • Ensure all employees are trained in accordance with Health and Safety Policy
      • Provide updates to the Health and Safety Policy annually
    • Document Control and Reporting
      • Maintain organized records of inspections, certifications, safety audits, and compliance documentation
      • Create and distribute reports related to safety, maintenance, and vendor performance
      • Support for Operations
        • Assist in the procurement of supplies, ensuring operational needs are met efficiently
        • Partner with ROC Operations teams to align facility functions with business objectives
        • Manage the disposal of hazmat materials at the ROC to include providing oversight of the Safety-Kleen contract
        • Maintain the profile with EPA for hazmat materials
        • Build new workbenches and tables and assist with moves and setups to meet ever-evolving production requirements
      • Vendor Management
        • Establish and maintain relationships with third-party vendors to ensure high-quality service
        • Assist with contract negotiation, manage vendor performance, and address service issues as they arise

         

        You Have a Unique Combination of Skills, Talents and Mindset, Including Many of the Following:

        • Associate's degree or equivalent training and two (2) to three (3) years of relevant work experience
        • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related exposure, internships, or full-time equivalent experience and training is required
        • Hands-on problem solver with a proactive mindset
        • Highly organized, with excellent multitasking abilities
        • Collaborative and communicative, working well with internal teams and external partners
        • Must be able to use basic hand-operated and power tools for facility repairs and maintenance, such as but not limited to drills, tape measures, screwdrivers, levels, etc.
        • Dedicated to fostering a safe and efficient work environment
        • The individual does not have any direct reports but is expected to mentor less-experienced staff members and serve as a resource and authority on all maintenance issues
        • Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting and work with and around a variety of equipment, tools, parts, and inventory
        • Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform physical work
        • Correctable vision equal to or better than 20/20; and specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to see the full color spectrum, and the ability to adjust focus
        • Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone
        • Ability to use tools, handle parts, and operate equipment, as well as access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator
        • Positions in this classification stand, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach to perform work for extended periods of time
        • Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment and assistance
