THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Vice President of Operational Excellence to lead the next chapter in continuous quality improvement. This role is responsible for driving enterprise-wide improvements in quality, efficiency, and scalability. This leadership role will establish and implement operational strategies, ensure process optimization, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The VP will partner closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation, reduce operational risks, and enhance overall business performance. They will build systems that don’t just sit on paper—they’re absorbed into daily behavior. They’ll connect teams, reduce friction, and empower others to lead change.
Responsibilities
Process Design, Development & Execution:
- Establish, standardize, and scale comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures to drive consistency, efficiency, and repeatability across the organization.
- Lead comprehensive process mapping, value stream analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to identify inefficiencies, uncover bottlenecks, and align stakeholders around shared goals.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or Kaizen to solve root problems.
- Design and deliver scalable tools, templates, and process documentation to ensure ease of adoption, minimize variation, and support change management efforts.
- Embed a culture of operational excellence and process discipline into team rhythms through structured planning, data-informed decision making, and accountability practices
- Mentor operational leaders and teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Collaborate with leaders to optimize workflows and implement best practices.
- Ensure SOPs are maintained across functions.
- Act as a change agent to drive operational excellence.
- Mentor teams to build optimization capabilities.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks with the COO.
- Promote accountability and transparency in processes.
- Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities to reduce expenses while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction, providing actionable insights to leadership teams.
- Provide visibility through dashboards and reports.
- Offer actionable insights through data analysis.
- Lead retrospectives to foster a learning culture.
- Establish resilient, transferable systems.
- Systems thinker with process design expertise and a bias for action.
- Proficient in Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or similar frameworks.
- Experience in regulated or complex industries.
- PMP or Agile/Scrum certification preferred.
- Strong in managing enterprise-level change.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and influencing skills.
- Data-driven decision-maker with a proven track record.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Strong emotional intelligence and collaborative leadership.
- 10 years of operations leadership, including leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Experience managing large-scale, cross-functional projects.
- Familiarity with operational technologies and automation.
- Ability to travel within CA.
This position's target annual base pay range is $180,000 - $200,000. Final pay determinations may depend on various factors, including but not limited to, experience level, education, geographical location, knowledge, and skills.
