What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Facilitator position at Elko County?
SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the coordination of events, generally after normal business hours at the Senior Center. Provide quality service and support in a variety of areas; greet and assist vendors, and provide information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Communicate and coordinate with the Assistant Director or Director regarding events.
- Assist in moving and arranging furniture/equipment, setting up areas/rooms for events or activities.
- Coordinating special programs and activities.
- Consistently use excellent customer service skills, establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, members and the public.
- Notify the Assistant Director or Director about any signs or symptoms of elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
- Treat all members, staff and guest with respect and appropriate good humor.
- Always maintains the confidentiality of all members and staff.
- Adhere to the Senior Center dress code.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma.
- Must maintain a valid Nevada Driver's License.
- Any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA’s)
An employee in this position must have the following knowledge, skills abilities upon application:
- Make copies, file paperwork and member forms.
- Record and maintain records of various participant lists.
- Perform perimeter check and secure the building after events.
- Accept payments as necessary.
- Experience with computer programs to include but not limited to: Adobe, Microsoft Office Programs.
- Must work well with others and show professionalism and compassion towards members.
- Ability to understand, remember, and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
- Ability to demonstrate aptitude for successful performance of assigned task
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must have and maintain a clean record of good citizenship; Records of Criminal History will be obtained by ESAP.
- Reliable transportation.
- Flexible with schedule in case of emergency or in the even of short or over staffing.
- Cross training.
- Responsible for keeping facilities and equipment neat, clean, and orderly.
An employee in this position must meet the following physical requirements upon application:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Climb a step stool or ladder.
- Perform tasks that require frequent reaching/stretching, intermittent sitting, twisting, bending, walking, and lifting.
- Generally clean work environment with occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals, odor, and noise.
- Occasional exposure to cold temperatures, heat, and moisture.
- Frequent interruptions of planned work activities requiring response to unplanned situations.
- Events may include alcohol and related circumstances.
