Insurance Coverage Associate – D&O & Professional Liability

A leading national law firm is seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate with at least 3 years of experience to join its renowned Global Insurance Department. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-stakes coverage matters, advising clients on Directors & Officers (D&O) and professional liability insurance while handling litigation and coverage disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze D&O and professional liability coverage issues and prepare comprehensive coverage opinions.
• Represent primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, MGAs, TPAs, brokers, and independent adjusters in complex coverage disputes.
• Draft and argue motions, attend court conferences, and conduct depositions.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies and manage coverage litigation.
• Conduct in-depth legal research on evolving insurance regulations and case law.
• Engage in client advisory work, providing strategic risk analysis and counsel on policy interpretation.
• Participate in business development activities and client relationship management initiatives.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience: At least 3 years of insurance coverage litigation experience, specifically in D&O and professional liability matters.
• Education: JD from a top-tier law school, with strong academic credentials.
• Bar Admission: Admitted to practice in New York.
• Litigation Skills: Hands-on experience drafting motions, arguing in court, and conducting depositions.
• Research & Writing: Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Client-Centric Approach: Strong ability to work directly with clients and insurers, providing sophisticated legal counsel.
