Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze D&O and professional liability coverage issues and prepare comprehensive coverage opinions.
- Represent primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, MGAs, TPAs, brokers, and independent adjusters in complex coverage disputes.
- Draft and argue motions, attend court conferences, and conduct depositions.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies and manage coverage litigation.
- Conduct in-depth legal research on evolving insurance regulations and case law.
- Engage in client advisory work, providing strategic risk analysis and counsel on policy interpretation.
- Participate in business development activities and client relationship management initiatives.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: At least 3 years of insurance coverage litigation experience, specifically in D&O and professional liability matters.
- Education: JD from a top-tier law school, with strong academic credentials.
- Bar Admission: Admitted to practice in New York.
- Litigation Skills: Hands-on experience drafting motions, arguing in court, and conducting depositions.
- Research & Writing: Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
