The Position:

As a People Experience Coordinator, you will provide Human Resources (HR) support to both local and remote employees as Ellis Porter continues to grow. Our HR approach is quite different – we’re less about designing complex policies to control and more about building on our great culture, leading with empathy, and recognizing that good people will deliver if they are trusted and given support. It’s a progressive approach, but one we are committed to with unwavering focus. This position requires organization, energy, and a high level of focus on providing simple and easy solutions to our team. This position will work on-site in our Troy, Michigan office, and after training is complete, will be available to work a hybrid work schedule (1-2 days/week remotely).

 

What you will be doing:

  • Managing the onboarding process for new hires (post-signed offer), organizing schedules for candidates’ first day, communication on laptop distribution, data-entry, and conducting new hire orientation.
  • Entering data into our HRIS (BambooHR), Payroll (Paychex), & Benefit Admin (EASE) systems & updating various other documents as needed.
  • Assisting with administration of benefit plans, including open enrollment, QLEs, and conducting monthly benefit audits.
  • Communicating internal moves (promotions, lateral moves, etc.) and updating systems, as necessary.
  • Participating in event coordination and execution for internal company functions.
  • Responding to employee inquiries on a variety of topics.
  • Staying up to date on Federal, State & Local laws to ensure compliance with current practices (ACA, OSHA, EEO, etc.).
  • Working collaboratively with other departments (Accounting, Operations, etc.) on various onboarding and internal projects.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Admin, or related equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a Human Resources-related role (internship, part-time etc.) and a continued desire to pursue learning and growing your HR body of knowledge.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to collaborate professionally and effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational skills.
  • High level of attention to detail, emotional intelligence, and empathy.
  • Customer service orientation where you take pride in delivering highly responsive and proactive client service.
  • Possess a high level of integrity and the ability to manage sensitive/confidential information.
