Utility

Purpose:

Utility team members are responsible for the ongoing production support areas they are assigned to on a day-to-day basis; including assisting mixer operators, oven operators, seal-out, washroom, pre-weigh ingredients, icing and trash/recycling.

Hours:

  • 3rd shift is 11:30pm to 8:00am
  • Overtime may be required

Pay:

  • 3rd shift starting pay is $18.50 per hour (includes $2.00 per hour shift differential), after training

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attend and be on time for all pre-shift production meetings
  • Participation and adherence to all food safety and safety programs
  • Completion of assigned Alchemy courses that are required throughout the year
  • Pre-weighing and preparing of raw baking ingredients
  • Work with equipment on icing product
  • Manage trash and recycling duties of assigned areas
  • Maintain the washroom in a manner that meets all food safety requirements
  • Clean production equipment following established Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP’s)
  • Accurately and legibly maintain cleaning records
  • Ensure that all utensils, equipment, and work area is maintained in a clean and safe manner
  • Collect all recyclable materials and combine them appropriately
  • Assist Mixer Operators in getting required ingredients as needed
  • Assist Oven Operators in change-overs as needed
  • Assist other areas of production as needed
  • Effectively communicate all relevant information to other production shifts and employees
  • Welcome all new team members and train as assigned
  • Immediately report any and all food safety and quality problems to management

Skills/Work Experience Needed:

  • Must be able to understand and follow direction and pass all Food Safety and Safety courses in the English language (Required)
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Read and follow work instructions
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers
  • Work independently; self-managed

Work Environment:

  • Production area can vary in temperature either cool or warm depending on the season and possibly humid in the summer months
  • Concrete floors are slippery, especially when wet
  • Intact senses of sight, with corrective lenses are necessary
