To be a successful Parent Advocate you must become able to do the following always:
1. Functions within Agency’s policies and procedures.
2. Operates within budget.
3. Work successfully with and alongside parents and clients.
4. Advocate for parents in meetings and with other professionals.
5. Partner with parents to assist them with self-advocacy.
6. Achieves positive discharge outcomes for youth and families.
How you will spend your time in this job:
• 50% Working with Parents and youth as a parent advocate, leader, and mentor.
• 25% Advocating with leadership, staff, stakeholders, and community partners.
• 15% Advising on program practices and policies.
• 10% Meetings and trainings
