Patient Care Coordinator Opportunity
Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient treatment services to adolescents and adults at our 86-bed facility in Panama City, FL and outpatient services to adolescents and adults at our four outpatient centers located throughout the Florida Panhandle. Additionally, we offer specialized treatment for active duty military members through our Military Resiliency Program, specialized chemical dependency treatment and TMS therapy for chronic depression.

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of telehealth services for inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse patients. Coordination includes managing the telehealth station, providing technical support and maintaining patient records. Performs Mental Health Technician (MHT) duties as assigned.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Telehealth Duties:
- Acts as liaison between patients, physician and treatment team. Communicates patient requests to appropriate staff member in a timely manner.
- Maintains responsibility for general support functions for the Physician to ensure efficient utilization of time.
- Helps direct patient flow for telehealth visits, acting as a liaison between the physician and patient, tracks patient documents.
- Primary responsibility for managing scanning, faxing and sending of medical records as well as filing them in the chart. Files paperwork accurately and timely in accordance with hospital policy.
- Follows the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient and maintains awareness of patient’s individualized plan of care including goals and interventions.
- Interacts with patients, assists with telephone usage, referrals to staff, and general information.
- Maintains confidentiality and privacy of patient related verbal, electronic and printed communications.

Technical Support Duties:
- Provides technical support to both patients and healthcare providers.
- Troubleshoots technical issues with telehealth equipment and software.
- Ensures smooth operation of telemedicine equipment and software.
- Works closed with IT to ensure the smooth operation telehealth services.
- Performs MHT duties such as patient observations, group session, ADL’s, and milieu management as assigned.

Qualifications:Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field preferred
- One (1) year of customer service experience required. One (1) year of experience in a direct patient care role preferred.
- Ability to work a primarily Monday-Friday schedule but could include some weekends.
