As the Master Production Scheduler, you will be responsible for managing the production schedule, ensuring timely delivery of products, by coordinating with sales, logistics, and the production departments to ensure production deadlines are met.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, logistics, and manufacturing department to determine production requirement/needs.
- Manage the production schedule and adjust when needed to ensure accuracy and consistency with the production plan.
- Coordinate/expedite manufacturing releases/builds to ensure production schedules are achieved, as well as ensuring on-time shipment to customer.
- Collaborates with sales, logistics, and manufacturing departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve customer needs.
- Review finished goods inventory statuses and provide information to sales, logistics, and the production department.
- Perform ERP transactions on sales orders, logistics, and bill of materials.
- Monitor actual output versus the production plan.
- Review PO delivery status on an ongoing basis.
- Identify alternative parts from suppliers to ensure production needs are met.
- Reviews material requirements planning (MRP) for accuracy.
Job Skills and Requirements
- College degree with a BA/BS in supply chain, business management, or equivalent business discipline.
- 10 years of experience in Production Planning or Scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
- 10 years in a supervisory or management role.
- 10 years of experience with ERP Systems (M1, SAP, Oracle) and Excel.
- Good organizational skills, communication skills (written and verbal), and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing the customer interface -order fulfillment, customer collaboration, relationship building and problem resolution.
- Strong analytic and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of MRP system.
- Influence others; persuasively present thoughts and ideas; inspire commitment and ensure support for ideas.
- Effective communication with customers and colleagues.
- APICS recommended but not required.
