The Vice President, Purchasing is responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision to the procurement & purchasing function, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall strategic plans and business goals. This role oversees the development and implementation of innovative procurement strategies that drive operational excellence, cost efficiency and risk mitigation. This role will also oversee complex financial pricing and margin structures from acquisition cost. Additionally, the Vice President will take a leadership role on various estimating practices given their knowledge in building code and industry standards, in collaboration with multiple internal and external partners, and successful coaching of junior estimators.

What We Are Looking For
- Master’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field is preferred; undergraduate degree in business is required
- 15 years of progressive procurement/purchasing experience in the homebuilding/residential construction industry
- 10 years in a senior leadership capacity with proven track record of leading large-scale procurement transformations and driving significant cost savings
- Expertise in procurement, estimating, contract management, including accounts payable practices and legal requirements
- Expertise in negotiations and contracting, including complex terms and conditions that manage and mitigate corporate risk
- Proven ability to make data driven decisions and analyze data from various sources to make sound recommendations
- Proficiency in estimating software as well as strong analytical and mathematical skills

- Provide strategic leadership for the continued implementation of the new ERP system, focusing on inventory and purchasing modules, and develop necessary processes and tools.
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals, including negotiating agreements such as RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive procurement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve supplier relationships.
- Offer strategic guidance to senior leadership on procurement and purchasing trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Build and maintain supply partnerships, ensuring continuous improvement of financial and product performance from existing suppliers.
- Oversee the negotiation of high-value contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and champion the adoption of advanced procurement technologies and digital solutions.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects, staying updated on industry trends, material costs, and new construction technologies, while fostering collaboration with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
