What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Quality Assurance position at Employment Solutions?
Employment Solutions is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Lab Tech to work for a well-established company in the South Dallas area. Our client manufactures and distributes various consumer products throughout the world and has been in business for over 100 years.
This role will be responsible for monitoring qualitative/quantitative testing ensuring food safety and quality standards are met.
· Ensure processes, work in progress, incoming goods, in-process product, finished product meets specifications
· Must be accurate and precise in testing procedures, having a keen sense of odors and flavors
· Interpret test results to release product that meets food quality specifications
· Process documentation for non-conforming product and communicate information to Supervisors
· Conduct routine quality checks in packaging areas ensuring food product meets customer specifications
· Communicate product deviations with operators to reduce poor quality and/or product holds
· Update and issue product specifications sheets such as weights, allergen matrices, temperature control storage, etc.
2-2-3 schedule (12 hour shifts… 2 days on… 2 days off… then work another 3 days)
Shifts Available:
2nd shift hours 6pm to 6:30am
Must be able to train for the 1st week from 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Must have at least a high school diploma or GED
· Flexibility to work overtime as needed on day or night shifts and possible weekends
· Must be accurate and precise in testing procedures, having a keen sense of odors and flavors
· Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions & decimals
· Preferred knowledge of Good Manufacturing Process (GMP's)
· Effective communication and team building skills
· Follow instructions and show focused decision-making
· Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
· (preferred) Two or more years with previous laboratory experience and 1 year in a food manufacturing environment
