Payroll Technician
Under direction, performs accounting and clerical functions in connection with District payroll matters.
DUTIES :
Assembles, tabulates, calculates, verifies, posts and files payroll data; performs record keeping functions related to the District's payroll activities; assists in the revision, formulation and implementation of payroll record keeping systems and procedures; arranges, posts and balances payroll data; calculates employee absences and maintains the District's employee attendance accounting; serves as the District's liaison for employee benefits, and interacts with employees, insurance representatives and brokers, and health care providers; completes employee benefits reports and maintains all records related to employee benefits. Establishes and maintains employee ledger cards and other payroll records; prepares quarterly and annual related payroll reports; verifies the accuracy of various payroll reports; prepares payroll analyses as required; makes complex arithmetical calculations and verifies computations. Tests Instructional Aides; performs employee orientation. Performs other related work as assigned.

The Encinitas Union School District is seeking applicants for a Payroll Technician to join the Business Services team at the Encinitas Union School District (EUSD).
Hours : 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; 7 : 30am - 4 : 00pm.
Benefits Include : Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, CalPERS Retirement.
Salary placement dependent upon experience; up to 6 years of work experience in the same or comparable classification is taken into consideration for salary placement.
EUSD is located in North San Diego County along the coast. It serves nine (9) Kindergarten through sixth grade schools, and one (1) pre-school for students with special needs.

The selection process will consist of paper screening (only applications that include all the requirements will be considered), a district administered test, pre-interview reference checks, panel interview, and performance task. Applicants who pass the paper screening will be invited to take the District Competency Exam and attend a panel interview.
Successful candidates will be required to pass fingerprint background check, physical and drug screen and provide negative Tuberculin Skin Test result prior to working in Encinitas Union School District. Fingerprinting and TB test at applicant's expense. Physical / drug screen paid by EUSD. Original Social Security Card and Drivers License required at the time of hire.
