Endeavor Health Services has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a full-time Human Resources Assistant! As an HR Assistant, you will be a key member of our Human Resources team, supporting the day-to-day operations of the department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to grow and develop their career in Human Resources. This position will be onsite at our West Seneca, NY office.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating communication with candidates.
- Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
- Conduct background checks on potential employees, including employment history, criminal records, and other required verifications, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Help prepare onboarding materials and assist new hires with orientation processes.
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
- Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in related field required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1 – 2 years of related general HR administrative office experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
