Position: Superintendent
Employment Type: Full-Time (Exempt Administrative)
Job Overview:
The Superintendent will oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure safety, quality of work, schedule adherence, and compliance with contract requirements. This role involves supervising subcontractors, implementing safety and quality control plans, and fostering strong relationships with clients, project managers, and the construction team. Must be willing to travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
- Review and analyze all construction documents, including drawings, specifications, amendments, accident prevention plans, and quality control plans.
- Coordinate and inspect subcontractor work to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Identify and communicate issues or areas of concern to the Project Manager.
- Document daily on-site activities, including progress, manpower, inspections, and weather conditions, with narrative and photos.
Safety Management:
- Implement and enforce accident prevention plans.
- Identify and communicate site safety concerns and ensure proper precautions are taken.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for hazardous materials on-site.
Quality Control:
- Implement and maintain the project quality control plan, including the three phases of control.
- Perform daily quality inspections and coordinate third-party inspectors.
- Prepare punch lists and ensure completion of outstanding tasks.
Coordination and Communication:
- Hold regular meetings with subcontractors to ensure schedule adherence and understanding of project specifications.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, project managers, and assistant project managers.
- Assist the Project Manager with schedule development, updates, progress reports, and look-ahead reports.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on site activities and progress.
- Ensure project records, including drawings, schedules, and logs, are accurate and up to date.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
- Knowledge of building construction methods, scheduling, cost control procedures, and contract documents.
- Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, and project schedules.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Certifications: OSHA 30, USACE CQM, USACE EM385 (40 Hour), CPR & First Aid.
- Proficiency with Procore or willingness to train.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to exercise discretion and judgment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and navigate construction sites.
- Manual dexterity for office tasks and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities, including close vision and depth perception.
Working Conditions:
- Regularly works on construction sites with exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, airborne particles, and weather conditions.
- Noise levels range from moderate to very loud.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
