Position Description
As a Safety Administrative Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations while working with the Safety Director to assist in the development, operation and continuous improvement of the safety management system. You will act as a focal point for safety administrative issues within the company.
Principal Responsibilities
An ECS Safety Administrative Coordinator will:
- Promote safety awareness throughout the company
- Ensure compliance with current regulations, including maintaining all required documentation and reporting for specific compliance websites.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Assist the Safety Director in creating and enforcing safety policies and procedures tailored to the organization’s needs, covering areas like hazard identification, PPE usage, emergency response, and accident reporting.
- Provide safety reports/advice to the Safety Director
- Assign specific training for new hires and current employees throughout the year to ensure compliance with safety regulations and ECS requirements.
- Create and maintain a yearly calendar of all pertinent dates/reminders/meetings for the safety department.
- Ensure safety-related documentation/records are available and up to date
- Assist the Safety Director in conducting inspections of job sites and evaluating staff to determine safety training requirements
- Observe company safety rules/regulations
- Design, develop, and conduct safety/environmental training programs
- Work with administration of workers' compensation program to determine areas for increased training and emphasis on accident prevention
- Keep current with all safety certifications for self and key company personnel
- Promote a safety-first culture by encouraging employees to report hazards, participate in safety initiatives, and actively contribute to safety improvements.

The following qualifications along with individuals’ previous work experience will be considered by the company when evaluating applicants:
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in mechanical trades.
- Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must possess a working knowledge of construction and general industry standards.
- Strong supervisory and communication skills are required.
- Must have advanced computer skills and maintain a professional image.
- Must be flexible to work overtime/weekends and travel as required.
